I just received my new glasses today which accept progressive lenses (it'southward my first fourth dimension with this type of lens). I know they will take a while to go used to... I've dragged my feet to even get to this point because I've dreaded not having a full field of vision. I tin can be kind of picky with certain things and but had the feeling that seeing blurry spots and having to keep moving my head every which style to focus would annoy me to no terminate, but decided to bite the bullet and but get for it.

Granted, I've but had them a few hours... I exercise intend on giving them a fair chance and waiting a couple weeks to meet how I adjust. Yeah, I am annoyed by certain things but I feel with fourth dimension maybe I can conform. For almost everything I need to focus on information technology'southward simply a affair of moving my caput into the right position for things to become clear and focused. HOWEVER, there is one affair that is only not working at all and that is non being able to focus on the computer screen. I cannot bring the words into articulate view no matter what altitude I put the computer or how I angle my head. I've tried the figurer about, medium, far, my head tilted downwardly, up, and in the middle... nothing is working! The clearest I can get the computer text is still all warpy and somewhat doubled, and even slight movements of my head make everything on the screen seem to practise a weird fisheye movement. Also, the all-time I can get it still only focuses on a small area of the screen; I take to motion my head effectually if I desire to encounter other parts of the screen. I do freelance graphic blueprint at home which is all on the calculator, and during the day I work with centre schoolhouse kids, a good fleck of fourth dimension is on the computer. Is it normal to accept this much trouble focusing on the computer screen with progressives? I feel like I can't see it getting better since I tin can't ever get information technology to be clear. I figured it had more to practise with your head/eye coordination and your body but needing fourth dimension of learning the best angle to focus, yet if that'south the case, then what does that mean for my inability to notice ANY bending that gets the computer screen in focus? Will my eyes only magically offset to focus i 24-hour interval?

Feeling super frustrated... Any advice appreciated!

Information technology took me several days before I felt comfy on the computer or my phone with my progressives. You volition find the sweet spot somewhen.

Have you worn bifocals? When I went for new glasses, I remember the person at that place telling me that how long you lot've worn bifocals affects how quickly you volition adjust to progressive lenses. The longer you've worn bifocals, the longer it volition take to become used to progressive lenses. DH never wore bifocals, he wore progressives from the commencement and got used to them right away. Yet people I've known who'd worn bifocals, then switched to progressive lenses took forever to go used to them, some never did.

My first Progressive glasses were early on 1990'southward and tin say that today's lenses are much amend. I had tri-focal back then and the showtime pair simply did non piece of work so it was back to tri-focal for a number of years until it was time for a new prescription. 2d go at information technology was far better because the field of view was improved and NOW with my current 5 year quondam I tin can look out the left eye with head directly alee and see fine (clear) 10+ feet away. I besides have NO demand to tilt chin upward to work on keyboard.

Could very well be because with this pair I had larger lenses used for improved field of vision while bicycle riding or perchance my almost 71 yo eyes just gave in and decided not to fight back.

As others have mentioned and you seem to agree, give them and optics some fourth dimension as you lot attempt to fine tune your head positioning.

Skillful LUCK.

I use readers for the estimator. I coudn't imagine trying to use the reader portion of progressives or bifocals for the figurer.

This is my globe right at present! This is non my commencement pair of progressives and I use my old spectacles to read the computer.

I prefer to accept my spectacles off to read a book or my iPad and can read annihilation close to my confront without my glasses.

They have already remade this new pair of spectacles one time and are now telling me I "merely take to get used to them". Um, when I can but use them to see in anything farther than iii feet abroad something is wrong!

I want to nail them with a hammer.

My computer screen is 12" from my spectacles and no problems. Could it be a "lens" issue r.due east. your prescription?

There is no manner that the spectacles are made correctly. I can only use them to read if I lift them up at least 1/two". The distance part is correct. The rest of the mid and close range are non. Remember though, I could get with no prescription for the reading role.

They requite me a headache and I want to blast them.

You demand to get the managers (lab and retail) to retake measurements considering lens sound like a mix of bad placements plus the reading height/pd sounds off. You could effort to take the glasses to be read by an optician at some other store or your eyecare provider to ostend perscription. It would help some if the frame alignment is double check because it can cause some errors. If all fails, go store chain customer service involved.

E'er happens to me with my progressives and being on the computer and cannot use them. One time they did brand a change to them and they were better simply still never really seem right. I habiliment my progressives generally for reading and sometimes television receiver and driving, my far away isn't that bad but being able to read and then look at computer is important and it stinks they tin can't seem to get it right for me so don't use for estimator

I'm into trifocal progressives at this indicate of my life. At that place is a learning curve for sure. You have to go used to moving your head to become the right office of the lens in front of your eye. But they are a Godsend for me on the reckoner, no matter the font size, just move my caput and I can read the blazon. This as my co-workers are trying to notice their computer spectacles, etc.
Only real issue I had was stairs. They were a bit wonky the first couple of weeks with progressives.

I'd take them back if they even so seem off subsequently a week or so.

THIS. The location of the corrections may non be in the right identify for you/
My wife got new progressives afterwards wearing them for years, and they were all incorrect. Dispensing Optician insisted they were correct. He shares infinite with the Eye Doctor, but is not under the aforementioned ownership. At my married woman's insistence he had the Eye Doctor compare the spectacles to her prescription. Centre Doctor simply looked at the Dispensing Optician and said "dude, these aren't even close to the prescription I wrote". Amazingly the replacement spectacles worked perfectly.

I got progressive lenses for the offset time earlier this year and I'm still not acclimated to them. Fortunately my vision is pretty good for using my computer, and so I but have my glasses off. It's an odd paradox-- I have to take my spectacles off and so I tin can see amend.

I have lined bifocals. They do take time to suit to. My center doctor told me to merely requite it time. I've never had Progressive…I just got new glasses and kept the bifocal lenses. The eye glass store said information technology was hard to get from bifocals to Progressives.
